Something is wrong here but I am at a loss as to what it is. I have a female Beardie about 1.5 years old. She is strong, from good stock, good size, weight and eating well.

The problem: she seems to prefer propping herself up on her wrists rather than putting her front feet flat. In other words her wrists are bent back so she rests on the top of her front feet not the bottoms. Most of the time her hind legs point towards her head when she rests rather than bending at the knee or stretching back like all my other beardies. When I throw worms in the cage she will get up and trot over to eat but she prefers to eat lying down. Sometimes she just lies on her legs like they don't support her weight. She is a strong girl and will fight me when I try to move her legs. It also seems like her hind feet are curled up like she is making a fist.

Any thoughts at all? My vet is at a loss?

Thanks from me and my Beardie.

You can give a thumb sized pc. of Parsley (lots of B) once or twice a week or Brewers yeast is supposed to help too.

is just starting maybe you can undo it. Wrsit walkers is also something we see often with Rehab dragons due to lack of calcium and UVB. Not that she is not getting it, but it could be she is not absorbing it and a blood panel would tell you in minutes if that was the problem and they can start correcting it in the office that day.

We had one 6 month old that had this and we able to halt its progess at least, but some calcium injections and natual sun

walking on wrists can be a sign of vit b deficiency like said. try her on some brewers yeast and see if that helps her along. but my first choice, try another vet, get a second opinion, brewers yeast in the meantime might do her some good.
