Huge egg/ twinning in alterna...

jamesalternafan Jul 01, 2010 09:41 PM

I just had a clutch of river rds dropped this afternoon and it appears that one of the eggs is almost double the size of all the others. It is the biggest egg out of an alterna that I have ever seen, since I have been breeding alterna.

Have people had experience with freakishly large eggs?

I am just curious about other peoples experience with larger than normal eggs and hope that it goes to full term. With some really good luck I was hoping twins but a huge hatchling wouldn't disappoint me either.

I have had a few extra large eggs hatch out over the years... But, the hatchlings were always about the same size as their clutch mates..
