I'll be doing a demo in Palm Beach for some visiting reptile specialist veterinarians during the ICE conference June 5-7. We could use a few more local people with cars who have an interest in attending or helping with the demo.
The group that has signed up for this class is larger than I thought it would be, and the available transport space has been filled up. Rather than turn down any vet who is interested in getting more comfortable with the idea of seeing venomous reptiles as clients, I'm looking for some more friendly hot herpers with cars in the area who can offer rides to vets to and from the conference hotel.
If you would like to participate (and incidentally pick the brains of some really top-flight reptile specialist vets from around the world) drop me a line at atheris a&t usa d0t net.
We could also use some more nonvenomous colubrids and natricines of all species (anything from 18" to 6') for the visting vets to practice hooking and tubing. If you have a venomous snake that could actually use veterinary attention, that would also make an excellent demo subject for the class - and it would certainly get the benefit of a lot of collective expertise. I'll need to know in advance what you think the snake's problem is so I can pack appropriate medications and tools that the visiting vets won't have with them.
Thanks,
TT
