Usually it means, "proven breeder". Not all snakes end up breeding for us unfortunately. Even the best snake breeder comes across a few snakes in his lifetime that just won't breed are lay dud eggs, or never lays. I have a Bubblgum Rat snake right now that is old enough, and has developed eggs but re-absorbs them. I can see the lumps and even count how many she has but then she refuses to eat and absorbs them back into her system. It drives me nuts!!

I inquired about a proven pair once to find that her only clutch was duds.

I think the proven tiger op was referring to laid eggs in captivity but is not necessarily a proven breeder in captivity. I wouldn't consider that to be proven if that were the case.

Proven should mean that the snake has produced actuall offspring.

I agree
Proven SHOULD mean that it is a proven breeder and by that meaning successful breeder in captivity. If they are using it to mean anything else then I feel they are, at the very least, misleading.
