STRIPE LITTER YEAR 2 UPDATE

JPCONS Jul 03, 2010 07:06 AM

Well this has been a very different year for litters. I have had much smaller litters with some good and some bad results. This is the same parents that gave me 37 stripe babies and one stripe albino last year. This year they gave me 22 big healthy babies with no albinos or super stripe. The babies had some degree of stripe.
None the less I am still happy with the litter

It looks like I put the mother to a albino next breeding to see what happens.

WOW, you are way ahead of the game on that project. I thought Conley Herps just produced the first double het albino super stripes but the way I understood your post you already have breeders. So are both the parents double het albino super stripe or was that a typo? I have to say they don't have that look of the het super stripes. Probably just a misunderstanding.

In any event you got some good looking babies in there. How is mom doing?

Mom is doing fine. Neither parent was supose to be het. for albino. I purchased them for there each unique stripe quality. I was working on the stripe project and now it is turned into a super stripe albino project. What fun it is.

Well we are still kind of new to this but I believe that you are mislabeling that guy. Here is a superstripe boa from Conley Herps as well as a link to the explanation of the trait. IMO you have a super super nice full striped boa or genetic striped. Here is a superstripe boa from Conley Herps. What defines the superstripe boa is the tri stripe that they have.
Deo 09' 1.0 Visual Superstripe boa

and then here are two that are possible super stripes but are for sure 100% hets.
Shawn 09' 1.0 het Superstripe pos Superstripe

Adonis 07' 1.0 het Superstripe pos Superstripe

Here is the link to Conley Herps webpage with a explanation of the gene.

Again this is just our opinion but labels are everything when it comes to marketing so just trying to help.
One thing is certain, your full striped there is the best I have seen from the Kahl stripeline. That boa is unreal.
