Late this year which is probably related to the cold spring/summer in Germany BUT on the day of our great win against Argentina my female laid 8 eggs last night.. attached few pics in rubbish quality..

Female starts digging the nesthole. Every year she is using the same place under a few solid rocks:

Nesting hole:

8 eggs. Chicken Egg for comparison:

Female is protecting the clutch heavily

Great looking cage too do you have more pics of that. That's something I've always loved about european keepers is they focus more on large naturalistic set-ups instead of trying to set up everything on newspaper on a rack.

Hi Eshan, nice to see pics of the hatchlings very busy at the moment with project work and not often here...

there is a thread with pictures of that cage somewhere here.. have to put some new ones because my folks damaged all plants

Yes. In Europe most guys are more focused in naturalistic looking cages rather than in easy to clean breeding facilities.. thats only possible if you keep a few pairs..Otherwise is would be to time intensive.

Thanks karsten! yes i did see the pics of your cage! its incredible.. im moving to a new place this year and im going to do my cages just like yours by the way Germany really kicked some A** against Argentina hope you guys take home the Worldcup!
And tell me when they hatch

Here is a naturalistic terrarium in my living room.. its about 6'x6'x3' (ca 180cm X 180cm X 90cm)
I made it from sheet metal, glas and the fake rock background is made of styrofoam melted with a heatgun.. it takes a little bit of practice to make it look real.

Congrats Karsten, hope they hatch!! Thats indeed a great looking enclosure you have.

I really hope we will play against eachother in the final, and than ......... we win this time

kboht Jul 06, 2010 04:15 AM

thanks Martin... we'll see in the next couple of days if the eggs will pull enough water... Personally I am more comfortable if they are not so full of water in the beginning so that the pressure is not not high inside them... but anyway exciting what will happen..

KHamers Jul 06, 2010 03:39 PM

Martin, Karsten....... we made it, it wasn't pretty but good enough!!!!! Hope to see you guys in the final, Good luck against spain!!!
