More Oregon snakes.

The usual suspects for Central Oregon.

These guys are everywhere, some of them are even pretty clean scar wise.

Pituophis can be difficult to find in this area but I can usually turn up at least one.

There is never a shortage of Crotalus, I think we turned up 9?

Thamnophis were present in decent numbers. We found a couple sirtalis and a couple elegans.

Mount Jefferson and Habitat

and a cool ordinoides from last week.

That is awesome. I've been to Oregon and have found it to be the best place I've ever been to for finding snakes, and those brown racers are everywhere. The herp maps for those racers shows that they extend all the way to the Baja border in SoCal, but I've never seen one and don't know anyone who has seen one. Its funny how the ecology and relative abundance of snakes changes from place to place.

I've never seen a Northwestern with those colors. That blue is intense.

I love those Yellow-Bellied Racers. Cool post.
