i was looking at some really old posts from some people on here that have been members for some time now, and i was just snooping around from posts from 2005. It was saying that albino hets were 900$ a pair!!!! i just got a pair of het albinos for 100$ lol. my how the times have changed huh? So much more new and exclusive morphs have come out since then its unbelievable. i remember like 6 yrs ago i went to a herp show in dallas and met bob clark, i bought my first actual snake tht i paid for with my own money from him, it was a borneo blood python. man since then so much more way better looking snakes have come out its unreal. i was young and i remember some of the prices of the snakes i wanted. i think i remember the spiders being really expensive, and look now like 6 yrs later i have one and i love it! i think its just crazy how time goes by and things change. im just blabbing starting convos! haha aight yall happy 4th again!!!!

I paid $550 for my lemon pastel male...
I've seen bumblebees, super pastels and pewters for the same price.

It irritates me greatly...but not much I can do right?

Yeah, I thought about getting a pair of $100 hets too. Then I realized I would have to feed them $300-$400 worth of rats and wait 3 years to get them up to breeding size and then, if I'm lucky, I would have a 1:4 chance of producing a baby albino or two that would then need more rats and another three years before I could breed it back to it's het parent or albino sib to produce inbred albinos which I'm sure people will be lining up to buy in 2016!

Just kidding...I wish I had coughed up the $900 in 2005!!

haha well when my females are ready which is gunna be like 3 years, my males might be ready in another yr. i have 3 females waiting right now for the male. but yea hets take along time and it doesnt really seem worth it, but idc i want to do it for the fun in being able to say hey i bred the snakes and i hatched this little guy. that its self is enough joy for me since ive never done it before i just want to feel what it feels like, i know to some people hatching some snakes is an everyday thing. but ive never done it before and i think it would be a pretty good feeling!!!

I agree, the only real reason to do this stuff is for the fun, enjoyment, and excitement of hatching out babies.
I must look in my incubators 30 times a day. (It's a good thing they have windows) The anticipation of waiting to see if you hit the odds is unbearable.
Good luck with your hets!

John
