I just put these guys in their pre-shed wet box. Some of these sunglows came out pretty nice. 25 babies and no slugs. Another good thing is I have a solid understanding of what the Paradox dad is. Regardless of his looks, he is a DH for Sunglow. Here are photos of the parents. Thanks for looking. Mike Panichi

Cool photo... Whats weird with mine is he played out as a Dh sunglow also, but he has both eyes red like an albino but then again i did have his brother in there which is also a non hypo paradox but with black eyes.

Does that mean the Paradox is not a Kahl albino derivative. Incomplete or partial Sharp or T Pos.? Possible reaction from genetic co-mingling between Kahl and Sharp or T Pos.? I haven't been keeping up with the discussion.

They are straight up kahl line animals. I believe the paradox thing can occur in both lines and probably many different types of snakes in general. I believe sand boas also have some and I know ball pythons have it as well. Thanks. Mike Panichi

I did not know you could get a visual Paradox from a Heterozygous for Albino (Kahl) boa.

The mother of the paradox male I used in this breeding is a full blooded lipstick(which is Kahl line) hypo het albino. There at least 6 paradox boas in the litter. Thanks. Mike Panichi

Hey, I believe you. It's all new to me. I've never claimed to be much of a whiz on morphology or genetics.

lol, I know my friend. I was just laying what I did out there for people to see. Some of the other guys have paradox boas as well and we have all kind of been sharing info and trying to sort this all out. I also bred both of my paradox to their mother but at this point, I dont think it took. Next season, they each will be bred to their sisters as well as their mother. That should give me a better understanding of the paradox here in my own collection anyway. I may even breed one of them to a paradox female if I can get my hands on her. Take care. Mike Panichi

Those are nice. Is this the first time that a paradox sires
paradox babies?

I thought that it appeared random & there wasn't any genetic
connection so far.

mike_panic Jul 06, 2010 05:24 PM

I dont think its the first time. I believe(I may have it wrong) Chuck Tornetta used a Paradox male and produced half a litter(18 or 19 out of 30 plus babies) of paradox boas. I really want to see what happens when I breed them to their mother and sisters. Take care. Mike Panichi

Sweet litter Mike!

ceniceros Jul 06, 2010 05:38 PM

But i do think the paradox gene lingers and could pop up at random.

Awesome Mike, good work! That sunglow paradox on the top jumped right out at me. I wonder if it'll turn out to also be a DH glow?? I always liked the way the paradoxes looked, the father is a nice one!

unfortunately, the Paradox didn't make it. Of all the guys I thought looked strong, it was him. A typical what I call BOAS SUCK, occurence. Thanks for the kind words though. Mike
