have a situation here where several hot herps need to be relocated out of a Colorado zoo. Lets see if this group can provide anything other than silly arguements. Here is a chance to do something useful for the hobby so...anyone with info on the laws of this area or ideas on how to relocate (legally)these animals...Please post here.

Do I understand correctly, Reptile Gardens is being closed down? I lived in Rapid City about 10 years ago. Reptile Gardens has been there forever.

Not that I know of. This situation has to do with about 100 confiscated snakes that need to be relocated to other ZOO's etc... There seem to be some legal difficulties in Colorado (in reguards to relocating them) so we are looking for informed advice and suggestions....Anyone have ZOO connections?

Whoa, now we are getting a little out of hand here! And way off the subject.
No, Reptile Gardens is not being closed down! Thats like closing Disneyland down, No I am not in Colorado, no I am not placing confiscated animals in another zoo. This has nothing to do with Colorado, other than the animals came from there.
This had to do with private people being responsible. Obviously there is no one here that has the ability to do that. So forget it!
The court case is still active, they must remain here. Period. It is as simple as that! Just as the dozens from years before.
Frank, now I fully believe you to be as irresponsible as Bud! To start frickin rumors is rediculous. If you were able to read post's, they would tell you that I am fully capable to handle this and any other confiscations that come along. I don't need any help from the private sector, if I was legally able to and needed to I would be able to contact any zoo in the country for the help. So dream on Frank. I am embarrassed to think that I even remotely thought you one of the intelligent members of the private community!!!!
Continue on as you will with this little chat room, but this has gotten rediculous, And as I am sure many would agree, it is time for this conversation to come to a close.
Frank look up the website if you would like to see what we are about.

You just shot your mouth off again!!!!! Tell me where I (1) Mentioned your park by name. (2)Said anything about any exibit, park or Zoo closing down. As Anyone can see by the posts SNAKECHARMER was the one who asked the question and I denied the rumor. That you should say that I did is a lie and...SLANDER! I thought you said you worked in Colorado (if wrong..my mistake).
I was deliberatly obscure in my post so that no one could point a finger at your establishment...also I figured less people would want to help if they knew it was you.
You repeated the theme over and over about how you are stuck caring for those snakes. My last post (yesterday) was the offer to help (again my mistake). Being somewhat ignorant of the state laws in your neck of the woods I asked for help and advice from folks in that region.
Your first post in this thread was to but into a conversation about posting snakebite stories to say we are all IMMORAL (it is there for anyone to read). My opinion is that you are a pompous A.. who feels sorry for himself because his job (that you get paid for...and I do using my own money), got harder. So you come on this forum and make slurs about how Immoral and irresonsible we are so you can feel noble! All you want to do is blow your horn and have everybody say your right...
And in reguards to your comment that I should get out of the hobby if I can't afford it...Well you seem to be the one that is Whining about it.....

This Is a Forum. That means everyone is free to disagree. Deal with it or please go bug someone else!

A few posts down I read something that gave me the idea that Reptile Gardens 'might' be closing down. Since I lived in that area & had visited R.G. I was curious if that was in fact the case. I want it known that I was not trying to instigate any arguements.

Good luck my friend...I was acting as a neutral in this thing and made the mistake of asking an unpopular question. (note the BS continues below).......I need to feel clean...so snake question:

I have a tiny Vipera ammodytes m. that I got at Daytona and that has fed for me once (pinkie). It has since then refuse all food. Suggestions?

Well I worked last summer at the Fort Wayne Childrens zoo. I am no back in college in Arizona. But you might try contacting Mark Weldon he is the main curator at the FW ZOO. And there is a Rattlesnake exhibit that will be running for one more year. And they are lookin for more snakes.

Not sure if this helps,
Chip

What are your responsibilities pertaining to these snakes? Do you work for this zoo? If not, then why are you involved?

Just tried to do a favor based on complaints I recieved....and got the usual award for trying to do something nice....

Frank, you stopped trying to do something nice when you insulted me to the core, regarding the "privately owned in it for the money" "it's all about the money crap" I was in it to help. Period.
