I need help in identifying a tiny turtle I found...

ladybruja Sep 23, 2003 08:07 PM

Hi there...
I am trying to identify a small turtle I found in my backyard, in Northern (Gulf Coast) Florida. He is about the size of a half dollar, with a yellow belly. He has claws, is greenish with yellow spots. He has a ridge on his back, that alternates yellow and black, as well as around the edge of his shell. I have a pic, but am unsure how to post it. Please help, I'd like to try to get this lil guy to eat!

OK I think I may have figured out the picture part, but as you can see I made it too small and it lost its clarity... anyone have any ideas what kind of turtle this is, and what kind of environment he needs?

looks like a young box turtle....though the pic is blurry
in your area it could be one of four different kinds or and intergrade between them. But the basic care wouild be the same. Can you get a clearer pic?
