FastDad,
Thanks! I wish you could experience it too.

I enjoy herping strictly for the "hunt". I rarely take anything unless its legal and something I really need, or something very special like the axanthic kennerlyi I found last year. All these particular animals were left behind after the photos were taken.

Looks like fun. I finally got a chance to get out on the ranch and herp. I found only 2 males but definitely nice colors. Its amazing how much populations can vary- as seen in your photos.
Ground looks pretty moist recent rains?

How are the eggs coming along from axanthic?

Kevin,
I am amazed at the locality variations as well. I have observed many different looks even from within the same locality.

The axanthic kennerlyi eggs are doing great. I was greeted this morning by the first to heads pipping from the eggs. I will post an update here as soon as they are all out and have shed.

Nice hognoses! I love finding those little guys, they each have their own personality.

Love the Prairie and Massasauga, too! I'm doing research on Prairie venom right now for Metropolitan State College of Denver. Haven't yet made a trip to the SE corner of the state to see some Massa's yet! Hopefully I can get it in between the summer and fall semesters.
