pro-mr 148 incubators and egg containers

cid143ti Jul 08, 2010 12:02 PM

Hello,

I am using a few Pro-MR 148 Incubators this year. I have been using the Sterlite CD cases with Hatchrite substrate to house the eggs. Now I have an unexpected clutch and I am out of room in my incubators. Is anybody else using these incubators? If so, what size and type of containers are you using to house the eggs? Would it be a problem to move the eggs into a different container so I can put two clutches in one incubator?

Thanks,

W. Smith

I use the same incubator. The tubs I use are Walmart brand (homebasics?), square, made by Starplast, serial number 1-75-304, 12.5 cups, you can fit 7-8 eggs in each. 3 tubs will fit in the incubator. I would have posted a pic, but can't figure it out. E-mail me for pics. ejwalsh@yahoo.com. Hope this helps.

While I like the efficiency of that incubator (I have the Reptipro 5000)...I'm going to sell mine and make a bigger one due to it only holding 3 clutches.

Any takers?
