First let me apologize . . .

yodaky Sep 23, 2003 09:30 PM

. . . for such a seemingly dumb question. I have recently gotten really excited about getting a leo. The only thing that has been tripping me up lately is if they are nocturnal, theoretically I will never see them. Why would you buy something that you can never see? (Once again, I apologize

I really dont know how to ansewer your question ! I saw a leopard gecko 9 months ago and loved them ever since ! There is just some thing about them that wants you to get more ! One thing i can think of is there personaility ! They all are diffrent, and certain ones like being held and others dont ! You actually see them more than you think ! If you go to school/work at 7:00 am, and turn the lights on and turn the off when you get home at 5:30, they will come out and climb ! I can sit there and watch mine all night long, and they just climb away ! I love it when you get them used to a time when you turn the lights off, you feed them ! The second you turn the lights off, they come running up by there food dish waiting for there mealies ! All I can say is Leopard Geckos are addictive, and you will most likely want to buy more later on !

Hope I helped,
Nick

ok then, possibly the last stupid question For night time, can they be in complete darkness? (like the way i sleep lol) Also, does it have to be dark for them to come out or just dimmed from what a "bright day" would be? Sorry if I am not making much sense.

Yes, they are fine in total darkness when it's time for lights out.

My leos tend to get active when the sun is starting to set (around 5 or 6ish right now), so it's kind of hard to not see them. I think the personality of the leo is more of what you should worry about when it comes to visibility. Some tend to be more shy than others and hide no matter what time of day it is.

When I got my first leo I was just going to get one but now I am on 7.. trust me you cant stop at one. All my leos are active some more than others durinng the day. I think when they are more comfortable around their enviroment the more they will come out. My leos are usually out form like 6:30pm till 5 or so in the morning. They are great animals to have and it is true that not one is alike.
