Killerbee question

LLAB Jul 10, 2010 10:13 AM

I'm still in a learning curve with genetics. Can someone please tell me (1)If you breed 2 killerbees together, will the whole clutch be killerbees? (2) What are the possibilities if you breed a killerbee to a normal? Thanks in advance.

1) Normals

2) Pastels

3) Spiders

4) Bumbles

There'd be no way to get normals from a super pastel spider to super pastel spider breeding.

Yea, I know! I just saw the second option! My bad!

I think a Killer Bee x Killer Bee would produce Super Pastels and Killer Bees.

All babies would receive 1 pastel gene from mom and 1 from dad, making all babies super pastels. Some babies would get the spider gene as well making them killer bees.

For Killer Bee x Normal I would think you'd get Pastels and Bumblebees.

The Killer Bee parent would throw a single pastel gene along to every baby, and the spider gene only to some. Normal parent not throwing anything into the mix.

I'm still somewhat of a genetic newbie myself, only just serious into morph balls last year, so take this with a grain of salt until someone confirms or denys that it's correct.

Killerbee x Killerbee = Super Pastels, and Killerbees.
Killerbee x Normal = Pastels, and Bumblebees
