Sean Jul 11, 2010 06:35 PM

Found this girl on the road around 10:30am in May of 2009 and she was already gravid.

Her offspring

This female from what she looked like after her first shed.

Looks like this now....

If I recall correctly, you found a AP king not far from that female, like a mile and a half away. How about other Eastern looking kings? That would be an interesting place to focus on. Possibly that would be right on the edge of the AP kingsnake range? Very interesting how that Eastern looking baby changed to AP king.

Yeah you heard correctly. All those kings vary but that striped one wasn't far away. Not on the edge of their range either. Just goes to show how you never know what you will find. Makes hitting it all the more interesting!

I don't see any Florida influence in that one at all. IMo that's an old myth as they don't even range this far north into the panhandle. Herpers have tried to make sense of why these kings speckle up the way they do but it's not from Florida Kings....especially when the area is surrounded by Easterns. Some of that older knowledge wasn't always correct.
