Sharp x Kahl

bandit_14526 Jul 12, 2010 08:06 PM

I have a Male Sharp Sunglow that's 66% het Anery, and a Female Kahl Albino. What would I get if I crossed the two next year? I am not sure how that would work if you crossed a Sharp and a Kahl.

Thanks...

1/2 the litter will be Hypo 100% het Kahl albino and 100% het Sharp albino.
The other half of the litter will be 100% dbl hets for the kahl & Sharp albino...
The 66% het anery thing wouldnt do too much.. If the 66% het proved out to be 100% then the babies will be 50% het anery. But you wouldnt know until you start breeding the babies.

I'm kind of confused here as well. Would both lines would act like 2 different recessive genes?
So what would happen if a hypo het Kahl would be bred to say a lipstick albino?

Yes, Sharp and Kahl albinos are not compatible so it would act as double recessive in theory.

As far as lipstick albinos, this is still the Kahl strain, just line bred, from hat I know. so if you bred a kahl to a lipstick you would get 100% kahl albinos but would have some of the attributes of the lipstick line.
