Hello,
I think that he is a Mali. He is definately not an Egyptian. You can tell by the size of the head in comparison to the body (Egyptians are much smaller), the colouration (would generally be much more grey in Egyptians), and the shape of the tail. (Egyptians have longer more slender tails). I have attached a picture of my juvenile Egyptian who is about 10" in length.
