Tennessee Reptiles 2003-2004...

DreamWorks Jul 13, 2010 03:17 PM

Just to clear the air...

Some pics from the 6 month newby collector of dragons.

These are pictures of reptiles I was keeping back in 2003-2004 when I lived in Tennessee:

My first bearded dragon:

bought in TN 2003
A pet store norm.

I liked him so much I started to acquire more dragons...

I was keeping on millet back then. Would not recommend that anymore although they pass it right through if they ingest any.

One of the earlier hypos I bought:

Hypos playing...

These are all pics I dug out of my photobucket account.

Rainbow Boa I had at the time. female

eating

video I took of her eating:

I used to raise my own rats for her.

Here is a picture although not my picture of what one of the dusky pygmy rattlers I have caught and relocated looked like:

Savannah Monitor I had at the time in TN circa (2003-2004):

I still have the same log he is sitting on although I sold the monitor.

Some breeder pics of hypos I was looking at back then:

This pic I took of a hypo female I had shedding:

Godzilla the norm (my first dragon):

He actually went to a buddy of mine who successfully bred him.

Picture I took of millet passing through in the poo:

One of my dragon enclosures at the time back in '03.

One of the hypo babies I had: (male)

Anubis... (he was sold awhile back... about a year and half ago)

A snow baby I had back in TN:

TN sandfire:

I'm an animal lover.

Have always loved animals and reptiles... somewhere I have pics of myself as a kid holding numerous snakes. I have always kept reptiles since I was old enough to walk and chase them around my grandparents house in FL. Think I was like 7 or 8 years old back then. I would run after brown cuban anoles and various snakes/reptiles around their house.

In NY I would flip over every rock in site looking for snakes and salamanders.

Nice pics....I'm a 25 yr reptile keeper but just recently got into beardeds and I have to say they are very enjoyable. I hatched out my first clutch ever last month and I'm sitting on about 55 more eggs. Gotta say I wish I got into them sooner.

thanks

They (BD's) are awesome.

Very docile and sweet tempered.

I have had iguanas that would tail whip and have had ill tempered monitors.

I much prefer the bearded dragons temperment.

Snakes seem to lack personality as compared to the dragons too.

Good luck with your hatchlings!!!

And where is he today oh great keeper?

argus6873 Jul 13, 2010 09:19 PM

Thanks....my buddy actually got me into them. Him and I are partners with some snake and lizard projects and he had a female BD as a pet and got a male for her. Well they did their thing and he hatched out about 60 dragons the first yr and gave me 2 of his females.
I got a leatherback male for them plus got a couple more females and well....you know the rest.....I'm swimming in dragons now....lol
They are much more interesting than I ever gave them credit for. They are a very enjoyable species to work with.
I will have to disagree with you though about snakes. Snakes are pretty awesome too and monitors are still my main focus. Beardeds are climbing the list though.

Awesome, glad you're having fun and having success with your BD endeavors.

Snakes personalities are somewhat dull in comparison to BDs.

Although they are gorgeous creatures, and I do love them.

Where is who Yoda?

Where is your 6.5 and 6.2 solar meters?

That is the real question.
