hey i don't know what to do about seperating my male and female right now there in a 125 gallon aquarium my dad thinks puting a divider in the midle would work but if i did that i would have to buy two new uvb fixtures cuz the one i have extends over most of the cage so i thought the better choice would be to get new cages please advise

thanks

The divider would probably work, just make sure it isnt clear, the male would probably always tryy to get to the female and it would stress both of them out. The UVB doesn't need to stretch over the whole cage either, just put it ove the divider so it stretches into both cages. I read somewhere that the UVB should be at least within 12 inches of their basking spot, which is where htye spend most of their days anyways. So if they are mroe than 12 inces away form the light, it wont hurt. Good Luck.

If the one you have extends over most of the cage..I don't get the problem..a divider would work fine if the bulb extends the length of the cage.
