These are the Black Hills red bellied snakes. We found 2 color phases of these awesome little snakes.

Are they pretty cool? I did want to check them out, but I dont really like being part of a group with a guide so I decided not to this time so I'de have more time to hike arround & look for critters. Next time maybe.

Dan,

Being that one is a National Park, & the other a National Monument... Well, I've been to Carlsbad Caverns, & the National Park service has HIGH standards. Go if you get the time!
