EGGS HATCHING!!!!!!

FreshTendrils Jul 14, 2010 10:45 PM

My Illinois bull eggs are hatching after only 48 days!?!?!?!

I have one very healthy guy fully out and two more pipping. I expect all 8 to be out within a week.

I'll have quality pics up soon.

I'm so excited!

We eagerly await pics!

Pretty representative of what they all look like.

I'll do a group shot after they all hatch out. A lot of them have some really cool striping patterns.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is that sort of pinky looking thing with the baby? Is that a yolk sac?

FreshTendrils Jul 15, 2010 03:38 PM

that's a pinky lol

I didn't think the hatchlings would eat right out of the egg; I thought they had to shed first. Unless the snake in your picture is meant to be representative of your recent clutch, not actually them. Never mind me; it is too hot today again...

They normally need to shed first. I've had a few snakes eat out of the egg before though.

It's mainly in there as a size reference.

Yes, these babies are from a wild mother that I rescued off a highway a few months back. She happened to be gravid and layed eggs while in my care.

She is back in the wild and 30 days later these guys are out!

Let's just say they are from near Kankakee county.

Very nice! If I ever get any bulls that is the kink(general locale) that I would want. Been thinking about it hard. Again congrats.
