Is there a website I can goto or has anyone created a list of states that allow you to ship ball pythons to? I shipped a ball to California (without checking to see if it's permissable). It was supposed to arrive Thursday by 10:30. I received a call today from Fedex security asking what was in the package and if I checked to see if it was allowed or not. Are they??? IM AN IDIOT!!!!!! I just want to know where to go for the future. Thanks in advance! Chris Hall

Did you have anything written on outside of box? "Live Reptiles" or anything? Just curious how they knew to inspect your box so closely? Also, what did you say to them when they called and how did they answer you? If you don’t mind telling, it is your private business if you don’t want to say I understand. It is just a little scary that the package police want to investigate and waste time on a little harmless snake in the mail while the bomb and the 100lb's of cocaine are probably getting loaded on the truck and shipped across the country as they waste time...

It said "Fragile live harmless animal" They called and asked if it was allowed in the state. I replied I'm not sure I didn't check. He said he would call me back. I had 2 missed calls while at work, but no messages. Guess I'll call them back and get this straightened out.

meanwhile your package is being delayed and probably sitting in a hot warehouse or something. I wish you luck. Has the package made it to it's destination? I surely hope so. Good luck.

I'm not fedex certified, but I WILL BE!! I spoke to the inspector this afternoon and he said everything was fine and it has been cleared for delivery. I asked if they opened the package and he said yes and the snakes were still alive. This was at 5pm today. I checked the tracking # just now at 11pm and it says it is on a truck for delivery. It doesn't need to be on a truck all night! The cooler pack I placed in the box on Tuesday is surely thawed by now. My fingers are crossed!!!! This was definately a learning experience. Next time I'll do more research. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Thanks Chris

I'm sure ball pythons are fine in Cali. He probably wanted to make sure it wasn't something that wasn't allowed like...a native species or venomous snake or something.

Hi,

I live in California and am certain that you can ship ball pythons here. I just have a question of whether or not you were fedex certified for shipping live reptiles. I may be remembering wrong but I think you have to go through some paperwork and show that you can responsibly package a reptile before using their service.

That's true! I'm FedEx certified and just shipped Balls to SoCal about 6 weeks ago!

I'm happy to let everyone know the snakes arrived safely last night around 8pm. I still don't know how to research what states allow balls to be shipped to them. Anyone?????? Thanks Chris Hall
