Marley is beautiful! Thank you for sharing that!
Oh, I forgot to ask. How big is he and how much does he weigh?
He's actually pretty small for his age(I think). I guesstimate him to be around 10yrs, he is 32" and he weighs about 10lbs. His front claws were all bloody stumps when I got him, so I suspect whoever had him before me(I got him as an adult) kept him in a small cage so his growth may have been stunted. I've had him 8 years and he hasn't gotten much bigger than when I got him. Love him anyway!
Kismet is pretty small too. She is 33 inches total length and weighs about half of what your guy weighs. She was around 18 months old when I got her and she'll turn 8 in October. Like your guy, she is dog tame. She came to me with some kidney issues, but we caught the problems early on and she hasn't had any further problems. Do you know any of his history? I have my girl's clutch number from David Blair but was never able to get him to give me any information about her parentage since I wasn't the original purchaser.

Kismet is a beautiful girl! Did you post pictures of her many years ago? I think I remember seeing her around online in the past. I hope one of my babies grows to be a sweet pretty girl like her. Marley needs a Mrs. Marley, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have no clue on his lineage. I got him at an exotic reptile store called Pet Kingdom in San Diego. They said he was traded in by a guy who also bred exotic birds and had lost interest in his reptiles. That was all the info he could give me. Have you considered breeding Kismet since she is laying eggs?
Thank you. I don't think I ever posted pics of her here before a few months ago. I'm active on the Iguana Den list though, well as active as possible in a list that isn't really active anymore. Forums have taken the internet away from lists for the most part...
Anyway, I did consider breeding her at one point, but I don't know. She's more of a "mutt" than anything anyone can characterize. I've no idea of her percentages. Like your Marley, though, she has the best possible quality imho, in that she is so sweet and gentle. I think it would be fun to breed her just once, even if I gave away the babies for a small adoption fee. However, another reason for not breeding her is that it's my understanding, that Cyclura females need to really know the male and I'm not in a position to keep another large lizard long term right now. It's always tempting this time of year because I have room outside, but then in the winter I'd be sorry. Also, if I couldn't find good homes for the babies I'd end up with a lot more Cyclura than I could handle.
Even so, every now and again during breeding season it crosses my mind. Maybe if there was someone with a nice male who lived close enough for the iggies to get to know each other, but I don't know anyone else in the Houston area with a hybrid. I was sure she had eggs this year -- she gained 3/4 of a pound since February and her girth increased, but both the vet and I were shocked when we didn't see anything. I'm wondering if maybe she didn't shell them and is reabsorbing.
