This is odd

I found a person who said he is willing to give his Pied Ball Python up for adoption. I dont know him and he lives states away. He said he needed an adoption fee of $250. Too me, this sounds like its too good to be true.
Thoughts?

Have him send the snake first...

Sounds like a "send me the money first" kind of deal.
Unless you go to pick the snake up and hand him the cash for the snake...I'd steer clear.

Could you get him to set-up a Paypal thing? I believe you get some security about delivered goods in that case, correct?

It is odd indeed, but not unheard of. The Reptile Rescue here in Lincoln had a Piebald female Ball surrendered to them a little over a year ago. They didn't have it for long though.

Thats what I was thinking.. He sent me some pics of an Albino Spider that he said he would sell for an additional $250.. Out of curiousity I looked up, "Albino Spider Ball Python", on google and what do you know.. There his picture is, on another breeders website.
Im going to have to say hes trying to rip me off.

Definitely a scam. This is going on all over for all types of critters with any value. Cats, dogs, birds, snakes, monkeys etc.. They'll ask for a shipping fee sent Western Union and they will send the animal directly to your doorstep. The animal never arrives and there is no recourse through Western Union. They always steal other people's photo's.
