Did i strike Gold? or Platinum??

chad-hulker Jul 18, 2010 02:26 PM

Well i had a big surprise this weekend to say the least. I hatched a clutch from my lesser x "norm" female and to my surprise i got 6 lesser and 2 norm..but 4 of the lesser were extremely pale compared to the lesser siblings. I knew they were different and look exactly like the Platinums Ralph Davis has been working with for years. The mom to these is just a 03 farm bred baby to my knowledge. Let me know what you think of the pics?

2.2 "special lesser" 0.2 lesser, and 0.1.1 sib (one still in egg)

Wow that is unusual... I'm not an expert on lessers, but somethings going on with those. Where did the dad come from? Maybe the original breeder can give you some insight on this. The dad looks like a pretty light lesser himself. Let us know what you find out.......IF it's not top secret! Good Luck! Chris Hall

The lesser is really light in my opinion but still didn't look anything like these babies when he was a hatchling. I talked to the breeder i got him from today and he's never hatched anything but regular lessers. I think its the Mom to the litter must have had the "het platty" gene or something just like it.
