SOUTHERN FLORIDA CORUCIA RESEARCH CENTER (SFCRC)

Location: LEE/1.

Just informing W/O reference on a skunk rescue-not even being conducted by the SFCRC can be construed as advertising. Please correct me If I'm wrong.

On Iguana rescue matters, The SFCRC would join the rescue group but one of the conditions is an obstacle or at the very least ambiquous.

It is stated that any rescue animal not be bred. Although, in a common species, it stands to reason if there are unwanted animals loose in the environment-Yes: 'family' planning needs to be achieved. However, All living things exist on this planet to pass on their genes. To state as an absolute that NO rescued individuals could ever be bred and to agree to that cannot be sanctioned by the SFCRC. There are exceptions to most things. An unusual morph for instance, may be important to pass on her/his DNA. Also, If a rescued animal is found a home, how can the rescue organization guarantee that the new residence does not breed the adoptee? The SFCRC states here and now we do not collect any fees or propagates any animals for Profit. All Corucia (An endangered species) born at the SFCRC will never be sold. We would consider for the sake of genetic diversity, Exchange only with another recognized Research center or Zoo. We do not presently bred any rescued Iguanas and find new homes for most. Can I say We would NEVER allow any Iguanas to ever breed at least once? Since, I take pride in the fact that my word is my bond, I cannot say never to the possibility.

I hope this clarifies the breeding question of the Goals of the SFCRC.

Do We wish to comply to the rules of KINGSNAKE?-absolutely!

We are very pleased that this wonderful service is available and do not wish to see additional rules imposed that may hinder helpful exchange between individuals W/O regard to materialistic gain.

Please inform or clarify Kingsnakes position on this issue.

Most Sincerely,
Brian
