Introducing the...PHOENIX

RegiusCo Jul 19, 2010 04:46 PM

First off we would like to thank everyone for their feedbacks and imaginative name suggestions, good work everyone, Now, we don't want to assume that this is the first confirmed result of this combination ( Desert x Fire ) so cuddos to all those that got it,:D But at the same time in the event that this is the first.

Marc, myself as well as Alex of AlexExtreme Reptiles, would like to present to you all the PHOENIX Ball,

We really liked the Monarch suggestion btw,

And finally the little one out of the egg,

Thank you again everyone,

Marc, Michael & Alex

That is a nice snake..... Why cant it just be a desert fire why a phoenix??? This name stuff should go to new morphs not new combos.. But this is just my opinion makes things a lot less confusing.. But regardless that is a hot snake!

ssnakes Jul 19, 2010 07:01 PM

I kinda agree with that.....desert fire...that is nice and it makes it clear exactly what we are observing.

milkman2 Jul 19, 2010 08:11 PM

I agree also but seeing as how people much higher in the pecking order than I am came up with the likes of bumblebee, snow, dreamsicle, and silver bullet.... I will go with the flow... I just love how HOT these enchi combos are.... Is the enchi the new yellowbelly???? I think it is better, just glad I got mine when they were cheap cause I see prices rising on them.

chongorojo Jul 19, 2010 08:46 PM

Wow amazing morph! Awesome name choice as well! I guess if some people had their way we would have the pastel pastel lesser spider, or pastel pastel butter spiders.... oh boy can't wait till you guys are going through that non-sence of calling a 6 gene animal by what's in it...... introducing the, yellow belly spider pastel woma pinstipe lesser! OH BOY! Just my 2c.

what would be better, having a name for every 5-6 morph combo out there. My god it can get confusing with all the 2-3 morph combos out there as it is. Just think about it, the books written by the Barkers and by Kevin just a few short years ago are just starting points of the morphs we have now. When the first combos were being produced and named nobody had an idea of how many base morphs would be discovered with ball pythons. I'm sure if they did they would have started naming them by whats in them a long time ago.

Heck come to think about it. This time of year, if you miss a couple days on kingsnake, you could miss out a handful of new combos lol. If the killerbee was produced today for the first time and named the super pastel spider, would there be any confusion with that?

Various Ball Pythons, boas, dogs, cats, fish, a couple sulcatas and a few other odds and ends.

This is a stunning combo and I like it a lot, but there is no enchi in there at all. There is Desert and Fire, just a combination of those two mutations.

milkman2 Jul 20, 2010 06:58 PM

I know, when he first posted it in the egg, many were guessing it had enchi in it, after I went back and re-read this post, I saw there was no enchi... I brain farted a little bit... I really got to cut down on the ludes after work....LOL

Great looking snake, congrats!

After trying to name some of the Desert combos, I have reverted to straight up names. No more Jollies or Low Jollies, just Desert Pins and Tiger Pins : )

Beautiful work regardless!

I agree, I wish none of the combos had names. Just makes it even more confusing to new people trying to get into the hobby and there is really just no way for people to keep up with all of the names. I still can't even keep all of the black pastel and cinny combos straight and I have been breeding for quite a few years now.

Nothing against the original poster. Just kind of an in general thing. Incredible snake BTW. This snake has really made me consider picking up a Desert in daytona.
