Is it me or does anyone else find this format completely clunky and difficult to use?

I am a computer programmer and to be totally honest, I have had to reset my password for this site like 5 times. They reset it to a random string of numbers that you'll never be able to remember and give you a link to change it. When I click on the link it simply takes me to a place to log in and that's it, NO PLACE TO CHANGE THE PW!!! I'm sure it is probably easy to reset the PW but I just never feel like taking more than a few minutes to try to figure it out before I just get frustrated and say screw it... Half of the time I don't post anything because I can't figure out what my PW is and I can't reset it... IMO if it's not obvious to someone who is internet savvy, then there's a problem. Also, why do you have to log in every friggin time you want to do ANYTHING? Other forums that I belong to, you only have to log in once and the login expires after a certain period of time.

I liked the old format better.

I mean seriously, I'm just saying that I don't like the format and that the link they give you in your "I lost my PW" email takes you absolutely nowhere...

Of course to post this comment, I needed to open a new browser window, log in to my hotmail account, go to the password message they sent me this morning, copy it, go back to this browser window, and paste it in the PW box...

Maybe they're trying to cut down on site traffic? :cP

My peeve with this site is that I can't use the plus sign in a post. And in the old version of the forums, I could use HTML codes to post things like superscripts and Punnett squares. Can't do that now, apparantly. Fancy emoticons do not make up for what's been lost.

I agree. The forum software they use here seems a bit dated and clunky. I actually like the overall look of it compared to most other forums. It's very easy to navigate. But it is missing a LOT of features that most other sites have. However, the people here make it worth it, in my opinion. (MOST of the people, anyhow!)

To change your password...go back to the page that lists ALL the kingsnake forums. Just above the forum lists is a bunch of links and one of them says "User Profile." From there, you can change your password and other pertinent info. (And again, I agree, it should be easier to find!)

Just my 2 cents as well, and hopefully a nickle's worth of help!

You can access most items related to your user account from the Personal Account Manager page (reset passwords, etc.):

This link can be found on every page now...right under the Kingsnake.com logo at the top of the screen....in red says 'MyAccount'
