NM state regulations

varanid Jul 21, 2010 11:12 AM

I've looked at the NM Game and Fish webpage and it's a freaking mess. Does anyone know where to find what regulations they have concerning road cruising? I know here in Texas you can get in trouble for it, but I' going to be in NM next month and want to know if I can cruise for herps during my nights without getting hassled? And is it OK to collect in small #'s? I don't anticipate it but you never know; maybe I'll get lucky and find an albino Texas Long Nose snake :D

As far as I know, no other state bans collecting from the road besides TX (for those states who allow take in the first place). I can't give you a reference for NM though.

I DO know that alterna in NM are off-limits.

You will probably need the relevant licenses. As far as I know, hobbyist type road hunting is ok in NM.
