wispertile Jul 22, 2010 07:35 PM

Does any one know if pest strips can harm Brazilian Rainbow Boas after the tank is fully sanitized and the strips are removed???

Depends on how much pest strips were used and if they had contact with the cage itself, how long they were being used.

Toxic levels also can build up over time in the snake...so a long exposure to pest strips could lead to build up of toxins till it hits a level where it affects the snake's health...

A cage that is well rinsed and allowed to air out for a day or two, helps dissipate any residual chemicals and toxins.

Are Brazilian rainbow boas especially sensitive to pest strips, like for example, indigo snakes are?

Thanks,
Scott

not to my knowledge...I have only ever used Provent a Mite to treat for mites when my first rainbow ended up infested by them. I treated just as directed on the can, never had any issues since.
