This rack was pretty cheap to build. 1 5/8 metal studs and track and peg board. The peg board allows air to flow through the shelves. I have heat tape on one side. It could use some paint to clean it up. 48qt tubes.

What do you guys think.

Can you show a side view where they are joined together? Did you just screw them on?

Did you add any posts across the middle for support? Or is it just a frame around the edge of the shelves kinda like a picture frame? Seems like there needs to be support to keep the pegboard from bowing.

Yeah I looked at all the pics, and this one answers all my questions. I was thinking about doing this with 2x2 wood strips but I think If I can fins the metal strips it will be lighter. Haven't decided but I will use the peg board Idea for sure. Thanks this has been very helpfull. I make all my own racks including mice and rats.

Are those metal studs aluminum? Where did you get them and how much are they? I like this idea a lot, cause I can make it to fit any tub I choose.

They just mixed metal. You can get them at Home Depot They are 2 or 3 bucks a piece.

I may have to borrow your idea for some racks I will build in the future. I've been stocking up on 41 quart Sterilite tubs for my Brooks kings as they get bigger and get ready to breed.
