Reading's Update

Gorillaunit33 Jul 26, 2010 02:34 PM

Last update here, after finding my first ever case of mites: http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=1827422,1835713

First off i would like to thank everyone here for the advice i was given on the mites issue. HUGE help!

Since my last update Reading has made a quick and very successful recovery. He's doing awesome, eating with absolutely no hesitation every week a close to full size mouse (i know i made the switch to rats but if you read the last update you'll see why i have gone back to mice). Its made a big difference he's, and my BCI, are finally starting to grow instead of being the possible runt of the clutch he was once thought to be LOL. Anyway next week will be a year old for this guy so thought it would be right to show him off. I would post up pictures of my monstrous 7 month old BCI but the camera died, she's twice the thickness of my BRB and has some inches on him aswell. Both snakes have been on the same feeding schedule, which includes the 3 week fasting due to mites.

Anyways check out Reading, and let me know what you think!

(all photos taken with a sony point and shoot w/macro setting, nothing special )

he looks great, congrats on getting over the mite problem, I've had to deal with it once before, and it is NOT fun, lol, I treat all new snakes with PAM now no matter what and haven't had a problem since.

LOL yeah. It kind of struck me as odd that my Vet didnt hear about "Pam" before, after all the high credentials she has, but she admitted that she's surprised it did not harm the snake and is looking into it for further recommendations to other people who may come to her with the same problems. She said before this the best thing she has ever used was a dog wash highly diluted with water, because some dog wash has anti tick and mite stuff in it.
