Hatchling Diet

spycspider Sep 24, 2003 11:33 AM

Hey guys and gals,

Our hatchlings have been eating well with alternate offerings of Reptomin food sticks, earthworms from healthy woodlands, and little bits of chicken mixed with multivitamins. I want to give them fruit and veggies but I hear they're mostly carnivorous at this period in life. What are some good choices or are meats/commercial food good enough for now? Thanks as always.

Johnny

What I do is finely chop dead things (bugs I leave whole) and start mixing in finely chopped fruits first, then veggies later. Finely chopped meat with finely chopped strawberry or banana, even mashing it all together, gets them eating it. I slowly expand to include tons of things by the time they move outside the following spring.
