A Suprise or 2....or 3?

BoaRepublic Jul 26, 2010 10:36 PM

Motley litter at it again with the mysteries. This litter was from 2 boas I produced myself. A 2003 Motley Het Albino female(poss het Anery) x Normal Albino that I produced myself in 2005.
Not only was there a Super Motley, but it looks like there's an Anery Motley....and, I'm open all opinions on the Albino/Snow Motley??? I'm sure once it sheds there will be no question what it is.

Half of the albino's have this crazy orange/pink on their bodies.
Crazy litter.

Too bad they're just born now. I was hoping they'd be out a week ago so I could take a couple to the San Jose show. They'll have to sit this one out...

Ok, thanks for looking!
Alex

Wow Alex Congratulations , practically all I can say is WOW.

Man there's alot going on in that Litter!

That one in the last Image really does look like an Anery.

That Super has a real purple hue to it, seems more purple than most.

Once again WOW !!!

Yo Alex,
I was gonna reply to the r-mail earlier but got caught up. I see a Super Mot(OBVIOUSLY) and the other thing I was gonna ask was,is that an Anery Mot?? Looks like you scored! The other thing was ,when you said half of the Albinos had that Orangis tint to them,it made me think and I bet if you keep any of those they'll prove het Anery. I've seen this a lot in the Sharps. Anyways,CONGRATS BUDDY!! Now tell that Mot female to stop holding out on US!!!! Oh,where did the stock come from that produced that Albino? Another theory of mine.......

RuBeN14 Jul 27, 2010 12:56 AM

Oh,was ther an Albino Super Mot in there also? Theres a real white one in there that I can't see any pattern on from the pix? Call me if your still up.

BoaRepublic Jul 27, 2010 11:01 AM

Nope, it's not an albino super mot for sure...but there's a chance it's a Snow Mot??

I had to be up super early today so I crashed like around 11 last night. I'll call you around lunch time dude....

Alex congratulations on one of the most exciting litters to date and I suspect your thrilled beyond belief. Have to give credit where credit is due and it seem's the Motley gene has once again proven itself to be full of wonderful genetic surprises. Wish you the best and can't wait to see the after shed photo's. Take care and continued success. Andrew

Congrats on an incredible litter. Looks like you may have a snow motley there my friend. I hope after it sheds that is confirmed. Motleys are full of surprises!!!

BoaRepublic Jul 27, 2010 10:59 AM

Thanks so much everyone! Ya I'm excited to see what's up with the white one. I'll wait till it sheds than get some updated pics and we can decide what it is ^_^

There's a couple albino motleys in this litter that are insane. Maybe they're het anery? Who knows. I think what Ruben is saying might be right...and if he is...then I have to consider a couple things regrding a similar litter I had in 2008...

Thanks!

Congrats on a very nice litter.

voodoomagik Jul 27, 2010 11:41 AM

First of all, Alex, that's awesome!
Second, I've heard of the anery gene popping up in motley litters where it wasn't thought to be represented.
I guess that's another cool thing we'll have to figure out!
Congrats again!

Be sure to post some more pics of them post shed.
From the pics seen, they are hard to tell from those pics. I also had a surprise with a motley breeding. Alot of the motleys I produced look anery too. Im not sure if its the het anery or if they will actually prove out. But I plan to breed some to prove if they are indeed anery motleys. Can you snap a close up of the eye of the albino/snow motley.. Sometimes you can tell by the eye of the animal if its more silvery they are aneries. Thanks, awesome litter..
PS- I seen a super motley over 2 years old.

Surprises like these are why I keep having to buy more hatchling racks for holdbacks. RC caught me toting another one home from Pomona last weekend. I'd love to see post shed pics man, AWESOME LITTER!!!
