Too bad there hasnt been more snakes moving arround here lately, its just been too hot, plus the grass & weeds are extra tall right now so even when I do see snakes most get away.

Crappy pic, but look close & you'll see the babies comming out of the egg sack.

Pretty Awesome!

Look at this guys fat face, looks like a gorilla.lol

I think this one just got done eating somthing on the road when I found it because it had gravil in its mouth

he was a shy one,lol

Thanks!

Marmots are the cutest little things in the country aren't they?

If you want to see softshells go down to the midwest---I saw *tons* of them in rivers in Ohio, basking on sandbars in the middle of streams. We get them here but they're shy and I rarely see them.

We have them here in MT too, I just never see them. I talked to a guy last fall that found an adult & a hatchling not far from me so I'm going to check out the area soon.

Thanks for the pointer

I like those marmots! That rattlesnake looked like it may have had its head grazed by a passing vehicle?

Justin,

No traffic on that ranch road that late, but lots of deer. Think maybe a deer stomped it while it was running across the road? There were a ton of them out that night.

I think that must be what happened. Maybe since these rattlesnakes are rattling less as warnings these days ( or so many researchers say) these accidents happen more.

Nice post. That first pic of the camel spider is cool, looks as if it's a messed up cross between a walrus and a scorpion.

Really appreciate your taking the time to share these pics with everyone.
