Wild hognose diet....

CBH Jul 27, 2010 02:19 PM

Hey all,

While tracking hognose yesterday we found one of the tagged females and she had a large lump..... We held on to her for a while and when I decided to take another look at her she regurgitated this:

It is a good sized full egg. We decided to cut it open and found this:

A turtle...... Most likely a Blanding's turtle egg but I have yet to examine the specimen closely.

Cheers,
Chris

Hey Chris,
Too bad the hog losts its meal but on the other hand it is a great window that opened up to view some of the other things hogs eat... Awesome find and photos...
