Baby aurics not feeding.

geckoman_nl Sep 24, 2003 12:44 PM

Help. My aurics are not feeding, When I check every night all I see is dead crickets on the floor. How many do they eat usually? And how often?
Are there any tips on getting them to feed?

Skip the crickets and go for a non-prey diet. Often times baby aurics will not feed on live prey initially. You can mix you own high protien baby food blend, or buy the Gargoyle Diet by t-rex. The babyfood mix I use is one jar of banana, one jar of peach, and one jar of turkey baby food blended. To this I add 1/4 teaspoon of minerall I and the same of herptive. You can get the Gargoyle diet online at LLLreptile supply.
good luck

You really do not need to mix the crix in with the fruit; they will just eat around it. Baby auircs can be a pain in the feeding department. Most will not take crix so you have to feed a baby fruit/meat mixture that Bill mentioned or the Auric diet. Keep trying the crix every once in awhile tho because it would be a better alternative then baby food if they ever take them.

Thanks for the replies. I cant find any turkey/chicken babyfood around my country (UK), or do you just use your own chicken/turkey?
