Baby rack I "found"

kingofspades Jul 30, 2010 01:17 PM

I found these little 1/2" thick crapboard shelf things at Walmart for $12...respaced the shelves...and pow.
I plan on adding 2 more levels to the bottom (aka buying one more shelf kit and just taking the shelves)

Not bad for $36 to hold 10 babies. ( heat tape and tubs.)
I love those 6 qt tubs because they are flat and wide...so babies can stay in them longer.

That was supposed to say "plus heat tape and tubs".

It looks like that's going to work out pretty well for you. What 6qt. tubs are you using? They do look lower and flatter than the typical 6 qt. "shoebox" type most of us use. Thanks!

They're Sterilite, but they are flatter than the standard tubs. Gives more floor space.

those tubs really arent that great. other than for hatchlings that are a few months old tops, they dont have enough verticle room. my buddy used to use those and they didnt work well at all

They're working just fine for my babies.

as i said they are ok for hatchlings, other than logically they don't make sense space wise. but once they hit a few hundred grams those tubs aren't tall enough
