problem with hypo brooksi

Ok my 2 yr old female is passing up a meal and it's been hot here. Her scales on her stomach are all rough, I've never felt this on her before. Any ideas? I know she may be getting ready to shed and may not eat because of that but just want to make sure

What does being hot there have to do with it?
The snake's enclosure should have a temperature gradient regardless of the temps outside........

What kind of substrate are you keeping her on?
Pics would surely help....

The house itself has been in the mid 80's due ot the local heat, the temp is driving my male flame hypo ravenoues yet the female passed on her meal. She wasn't recently in the blue and I'm using aspen. Just weird that her stomach was rough to the touch, I'm hoping it's just getting close to a shed

Well, if you have had her for two years, you should be familiar with her shed cycle. However, I have missed noticing bluing in some of my animals, particularly my snow corns. She is probably going into shed, or may be dehydrated due to the warmer than usual heat. Maybe give her a larger bowl to soak and cool off in and see if that helps.

Not sure where you are, but I know both the heat and humidity have been killer up here in Boston this summer. You keep on aspen, now humidity will affect that and make it matt down and absorb less before it needs changing. Rough belly scales may have to do with the excess moisture in the cage. Cant be 100% of course without knowing a bunch of other stuff, but I'd say change the substrate more often and watch her carefully during the shed cycle. Too much moisture will speed up the she cycles....
