Starting off the 2010 season right....

rainbowsrus Aug 02, 2010 02:19 PM

Found my first 2010 BRB's this morning and is an awesome sight. I believe one of first times (if not the very first time) an Anery BRB was mated to another Anery BRB. She was due in a week by my calendar but according to hers this was just the right day. Full term, nice healthy litter of ALL aneries!!!!

Over the last few years I've had a few litters deposited in the water bowl and as a safety measure I leave an inverted clay dish in the bowl and low water lever to give the babies the capability to get out on their own. Of course, this litter was dropped in the water bowl!!

Two had already left the water bowl and cruising the cage with mom.

First thing to do was remove the clay dish and dump out all the water I could into a tub. A couple of babies slipped through with the water and yuck...

That left most of the babies, slugs and yuck still in the water bowl....

Here are all the babies all cleaned up...

And a little closeup showing the colors....

I showed them to my wife and she asked what they were. I said BRB's and she replied, no, really, what are they?? They look soooo different.

My first aneries and wow they look so cool as neos...

Total of 12 babies and 8 slugs and mom is just fine.

That is so awesome! The color, if my monitor serves me right, is like black fade to charcoal and white? these are definitely on my want list for the future. Hopefully they dont have the regurge problems the hypos have had. Best of luck with them cant wait to see first shed pics!

Basically, they look like BRB's pre color photography. They will have brown come in as they mature but will keep the stark white crescents.

Thanks!!

Lookin great Dave, my little female is starting to show that she's gravid, and is taking mice, so she doesn't have to go the whole time without food

Unfortunately for most they are still a bit pricey. Even though they have come down a lot from what I paid for mine. Will be up in a few weeks or so as long as they do well.

Way cool Dave! Congrats!! That is one milestone of a litter. I bet those little wigglers will pay for all your snake food and then some!

Thanks Aubrey,

I have been chatting with Brian Sharp and this is the first Anery x Anery BRB litter. Probably the most Anery BRB's ever in one place at one time!! Definitely the most Anery BRB's in one litter!!!

That litter should put me in the black overall!! Years of investing my time and mucho dinero in my hobby are really paying off now.
