Help w/ a twisted umbilical cord.

ballgraff Aug 02, 2010 02:53 PM

I have a Pastel with a twisted umbilical. Still has a bit of yolk attached. There is no way to untwist it...so, I guess my question is what to do? Tie it off and cut it? They are at day 55 I cut yesterday, after the first one pipped. The snake is alert. Seems ok, but I don't want to put him at risk. Also want him to get as much of the nutrients as possible. Any help will be appreciated, I know many have dealt with this, first time for me.

Thanks, Eric.

Well, he came out of the egg and was twisted up. I tied the cord off and cut it. Everything went well from what I can tell. He is very active and alert, there was no blood and he looks healthy. I have my fingers crossed.
