We went out looking for Sistrurus catenatus edwardsii, and got skunked... we did end up finding a few snakes. Looks like we're in the right area, just missed them. Here are some pics

Such a shame, its a common site around these areas

Plenty of bugs, means plenty of food.

The only snakes for the night were these two Texas Glossy Snakes

The one was larger

2 Glossies is still a cool night. That first "light" TX Glossy is awesome. They are very underestimated snakes and make great captives.

nice! Love the pinkish-orange hue of the dorsal stripe on the glossies! I need to get back down that way for Mexican milks some day soon!
