heres a good 1 : GECKO HAS STOPPED EATING

heyjeyniceid Sep 24, 2003 03:11 PM

Hi all. Im a huge n00b at Geckoes. Got a pair Sept 20th at a Reptile show. I did as much reasearh as I could BTW.

I got one High yellow male, and 1 hetalbino reduced pattern female. Both in the 7-8 inch range. Both with fat tails althought the males is fatter.

when I first got them home, the female would eat EVERYTHING! I was worried that the male might not ever get anything to eat.

now for the past two days (sept. 25th), the female has showed very little interest in food and the male is STUFFING Himself with almost all the crix.

It was only until today that she started tracking the food, but not actually eating.

Is it me?? I mean I handle them almost everyday. Was it too soon to start picking them up? I hardly handle them now since she stopped eating.

Is it the weather?? I read some posts on the same subject and they seem to throw out the possibility of fall reducing their appetite.

1st.. calm down.

Leopard Geckos can go a week or two without food if they were healthy before hand by the sounds of it your gex are going to be fine.

My leos also stop eatting for a few days at a time and then pig out. One of my females who is alot slimmer than the others doesn't eat much at all but is healthy active and eats when she fancys.

Just relax alittle and don't worry so much. If she dosen't eat for like 2 week then start thinking about other things.
