L. g. splendida...

I got 10 good eggs from my Axanthic female this year.....I bred her to an amelanistic male that is possible het for hypo.....

So these are definite double het for snow and possible het for ghost if the hypo gene pays off.....lol

About 3 of the eggs were "normal" in size but the other 7 were some of the largest Splendida eggs I have ever seen......
I was thinking some had twins in them but so far no twins.....just some size difference with the hatchlings......

Thanks Doug....
That smaller one is a male and is about 10 inches long.....
The larger one is a female and she's about 13 inches long......

So the male isn't really that puny......But the female is huge for a hatchling.......

One other female is out of the egg and is about the size of the male.......

I think the larger the adult female the larger the eggs.....so the larger the offspring.......

Yeah, generally speaking that is usually true, but my female brooks eggs this year were much smaller than last year, and she is HUGE!. Last years eggs were GIANT!

Seems that nothing is really absolute about it..LOL!

It will be interesting to see how big the eggs of her second clutch are here soon.
