I have been BURSTING with my news!

lele Sep 24, 2003 03:32 PM

A week or so ago anson (Sonia) emailed me and offered one of her little veiled's who is special. She lost part of her tail as a hatchling and is very small for her age. She had been thinking about this since I lost Bart (my third and last pygmy leaf cham to die in July) but wanted to make sure she was healthy so I wouldn’t lose another. Frankly, I don’t know if I would have taken her back then, but I guess I was ready. Sonia’s main concern was that she not be bred and knows I have no interest in doing so, so she offered her to me for free….I paid shipping. You have no idea how much it meant to me that she has chosen me to be mini-cham’s Mom (until a name surfaces that’s what I’ve been calling her ) I have been just bursting to tell all you guys but wanted to wait until I actually had her safe and sound. She arrived this morning.

So w/o further ado…here she is! (and you know there will be many photos to follow in the near future!)

and I think she already has a name, doesn't she?
"Mini-cham" is just SO cute!

I think we have already bonded - LOL! She drank from my big syringe and ate a waxworm from my hand (I think it was the waxworm she bonded with not me )

After all the research I have done, and all the time I have spent on this forum I feel like I know nothing and have to learn all over again, so if I ask seemingly stupid questions please bear with me!

Even though she is only a few inches long and in a 20x18x12 cage it seems small. Think I'll be asking a friend to help me build something bigger/taller before winter sets in.

My special thanks to Sonia for having faith in my herping abilities even after the strange loss of my little leaf chams.
