Banana kingsnake high yellow/white genes

snakekate Aug 04, 2010 04:56 PM

I have a cali king that was sold to me as a Banana, but I was shopping around and found what looked Identical to my king labled a 'high yellow.' What are the differences between the two and any other info about those lines would be awesome. Its very hard to find info online! Also, I am incubating some eggs from him bred to a normal yellow/brown female, what are the possible outcomes?

No difference, they are both originally derived and line-bred from the naturally occurring Long Beach/Newport morph.

Some lines simply have more solid coloration than others depending on who bred them to what over the years.

They are quite variable too, and with your combination, you can get some that look a bit more like either parent, and intermediate phenotypic looks, and anything in between.

more than likely, some will look similar to each other, but probably none will be alike.

Thank you! I figured they had to be similar...but there is so much variation!
