Feeding Rabbits?

livinginvestment Aug 04, 2010 07:07 PM

I guess I should have asked this before I filled my freezer up with them...If rabbits contain NO fat, are they not a wise choice to feed to my girls getting them ready for the breeding season?

Thanks,

Kenny

Rabbits are leaner, but not fat free. I feed my females rabbits . I'd rather get them up to the right size by feeding them a leaner, and more protien filled diet , than by giving them more fatty meals. I still use rats though - I'm not against them at all -- I just have an un-ending supply of bunnies, since I breed them.

I know we humans would not be able to live off of just rabbits for too long because of the insufficant fat on the meat. ( I remember Man vs wild or one of those shows explaining it) but im not sure if this applies to reptiles
