Keeping Hatchlings Together....

uvlights May 26, 2003 06:31 AM

Is it dangerous keeping hatchlings together? I have read stories of littermates nipping off tails and toes. If you keep them properly supplied with food is this likely to still happen? Thanks!

Hatchlings can be kept together in an appropriate sized habitat and as long as they are well fed. Hatchlings should eat at least 3 times a day. If they get too hungry they loose all their common sense and will go after anything that moves, meaning toes and tail tips. So, if you keep them together, give them LOTS of room and feed them right. If something happens and they get overly hungry, remove them for feeding, don't feed them all together.
