Can somebody please give me some info about their venom and it's effect on humans.

What are you looking for? How bad of shape you'll be in if you get bit?

Most people survive a bite, but av treatment is often necessary. This is obviously not to say that you may not loose an arm or limb from a bite. If you took a bite in a vein, your chances would probably be much less for successful recovery.

Hopefully someone else will chime in. This is just what I've heard over the years.

A vein bite would be very bad. I have read and seen pictures of pretty massive necrosis from eyelash bites, bites can be pretty serious. I think many people downplay eyelash viper bites and their venom, I don't see how when they have caused fatalities. There is a cheap av, Costa Rican Polyvelent, if you can get ahold of some. It's effective, I heard 5 vials usually does the trick, except in the case of severe envenomations...ie. a bite while feeding would be bad, not as bad as in the vein, but nothing to take lightly. One note though, do not, under any circumstance, underestimate an eyelash vipers strikerange. I've seen mine strike almost it's full length, except for the prehensile tail part that was holding the branch. It was amazing.
They are awesome snakes. I had to get rid of mine due to City laws, but I'm moving pretty soon and plan on getting a breedable pair....hopefully at the Hamburg show.
